Can anyone help? I bought a used HP Deskjet D1660 printer and I've been trying everything to try and install it on my laptop with no luck. There is no support from HP. There are no drivers and the Print and Scan Dr. is no help.

Hi @whatzittooya24,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
Installing a used HP Deskjet D1660 printer on a Windows 10 laptop involves several steps to ensure proper setup and functionality. Here’s a detailed guide to help you through the process:
Steps to Install HP Deskjet D1660 Printer on Windows 10:
1. Prepare for Installation:
Ensure Printer Compatibility: Confirm that the HP Deskjet D1660 is compatible with Windows 10. This model should generally work with Windows 10, but it's good to check for any specific driver updates.
Connect the Printer: If you haven't already, connect the printer to your laptop using a USB cable. Make sure the printer is powered on.
2. Download and Install the Printer Driver:
Automatic Driver Installation:
- Windows 10 usually attempts to automatically install the necessary drivers when you connect the printer. Allow Windows to search for and install the drivers automatically.
Manual Driver Installation:
- If Windows does not automatically install the drivers, or if you prefer to install them manually:
- Visit the HP Support website. if no drivers are available for your current OS, try Windows built-in driver.
- Enter "Deskjet D1660" in the search box and select your printer model from the list.
- Navigate to the Drivers & Downloads section.
- Download the latest full-feature driver package for Windows 10.
- Once downloaded, run the installer file and follow the on-screen instructions to complete the installation.
Kindly check the next set of steps in the next post.
