Microsoft Windows 11

One of my laptops upgraded to Windows 11.  The other one didn't.

I've lost the option to print full duplex on the Windows 11.

Anyone found a fix? I've tried updating and reinstalling drivers and the HP Smart Print application.

So... got it cleared up.  The driver that was used following the Windows 11 upgrade was Microsoft IPP (?)

I went down to the device driver level for the printer  and there were only three types available and HP was not one of them. I prompted Windows to update its list of printer drivers -- which took long than I expected.  Maybe 15 minutes?

When it came back, it had a variety of HP printers available -- none of which matched my printer. I selected one that was close, applied the changes, and then went back to the original configuration and whaddya know?  Now the expected configurations are available.

Not sure that I can say WHAT exactly the fix was but those were the steps I went through -- near as I recall.  Didn't keep good notes as I stepped through it. lol

Thanks to all for the prompt responses and suggestions!

The issue is that printing on both sides (duplex) no longer shows up as an option.  It must be related to the upgrade to Windows 11 since my other laptop still has the options you link depicted.

You need to confirm that the driver still knows that the duplex capability exists. On your computer go to control panel>devices and printers, right click on the icon for your printer and select "printer properties" from the drop down menu. Then click on the device settings tab, scroll down until you see the duplex printing option and make sure it shows as installed

Hi @cggalloway ,

thank you for your feedback.
Can you please tell me the exact printer model number.
Background:
I guess it needs to uninstall the old printer software first and then install the new printer software.
But let's wait and see if @Repairatrooper 's suggestion is the solution first.
