The instructions seem to be incorrect.  There is no setup "scan to network folder" in the EWS inferface for hp8120e.  Let me know please because I have wasted an hour looking for it HpSmart HpApp EWS.    If it does not have this option (because it is -e ?  And save other poor souls who have traveled this path in vain.

Apparently it does include the feature.  I logged into the PC as a different user, after spending 2 hours trying to set it up for the primary user, and it worked first time, no problem.  Scanned directly to the users Documents folder.  In the instructions, I had setup a shared folder with correct permissions, but nowhere in the software or hardware was a place to enter the path to the shared network folder.  I assume this printer is new, and still 1/2 baked.  Bios was already up-to-date so I have no idea why it worked on one users profile, so easy and still fussing with the primary user.

-- Short Answer --

EWS Scan to Network folder is not supported on your printer model / series.

-- Longer Answer --

Unfortunately, Scan to Network Folder is not listed for this printer series as a Digital Send feature in the Embedded Web Server (EWS).

The reason for the lack is not because the printer is an "e" model.

The OfficeJet Pro 81xx series is the "little brother" to the Pro 91xx series.

One difference is the lack of one and more of the Digital Send features.

Another:  This series does not include automatic 2-sided Scan.
