Is there a workaround? The printer is not old and I don't want to have to change it. Thank you.

Hi @WFx7,

Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

It looks like you're encountering a driver compatibility issue with your HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw printer and macOS 15.2. Here are a few workarounds to try.

Use Apple's Built-in Drivers: macOS often includes built-in support for many HP printers. You can try using the default driver provided by macOS:

  • Go to System Preferences > Printers & Scanners.
  • Click on the + icon to add the printer.
  • If the printer appears, select it and check if it installs using the built-in driver. If it doesn't, try the next steps.

Download and Install HP Easy Start: HP offers a tool called HP Easy Start that automatically detects and installs the necessary drivers for your printer. Here's how:

  • Visit the HP Easy Start website.
  • Download and run the tool for macOS.
  • Follow the prompts to install the correct printer drivers.

Use AirPrint: The HP Color LaserJet Pro MFP M283fdw supports AirPrint, so you can try printing via this feature:

  • Ensure your printer and Mac are connected to the same Wi-Fi network.
  • When printing from your Mac, select the printer as the AirPrint option from the printer list.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
