Hi @dheerajarora242 ,

If you're having trouble installing your HP LaserJet M1005 MFP on a Surface Laptop 7, follow these steps to ensure a smooth installation:

  1. Check Compatibility:

    • Make sure the HP LaserJet M1005 MFP drivers are compatible with the operating system version on your Surface Laptop 7.
  2. Download Drivers:

    • Visit the HP Support Website and search for the LaserJet M1005 MFP model.
    • Download the latest drivers and software package that corresponds to your version of Windows.
  3. Connect the Printer:

    • Ensure the printer is connected to your Surface Laptop 7.
    • You may need a USB-A to USB-C adapter if your laptop only has USB-C ports.
  4. Installation Process:

    • Locate the downloaded driver file, usually found in your downloads folder, and double-click to start the installation.
    • Follow the on-screen instructions to complete the setup process.
  5. Using Windows Update:

    • Sometimes Windows Update can automatically find and install the needed drivers. Go to 'Settings' > 'Update & Security' > 'Windows Update', and check for updates.
  6. Check Device Manager:

    • Go to Device Manager on your Surface Laptop.
    • Expand the 'Printers' or 'Unknown Devices' section to see if the printer is listed.
    • If it’s listed with a yellow triangle, right-click and select 'Update Driver'.
  7. Troubleshooter:

    • Use the built-in Windows troubleshooter. Go to 'Settings' > 'Devices' > 'Printers & Scanners'. Click on your printer and select 'Manage' > 'Run the troubleshooter'.
  8. Manual Add Printer:

    • Sometimes manually adding the printer can solve recognition issues.
    • Go to 'Settings' > 'Devices' > 'Printers & Scanners', select 'Add a printer or scanner', and follow instructions.
    • If the printer is not detected, select 'The printer that I want isn’t listed' and follow the steps for manual addition.
  9. Check USB Connections:

    • Ensure all your USB connections are secure, and if possible, test with another USB cable.
