Nowhere are you informed that 9720 wide format printers will not duplex!

I've been through the entire manual, searched online and nowhere can I find any info on duplexing on the wide format printer I just purchased. Okay - obviously stupid of me to assume that an HP printer that is 4 years newer than my old one would have the same capabilities! But you can't even find anywhere warning you that this model can't duplex on larger sheets, if it will duplex at all! 😠 The manual doesn't even have the word 'duplexing' in it. Such a basic feature for years is just not there.

True -  User Guides do not always include this information.

I don't think the feature is meant to be hidden.

 Use the HP printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

NOTE:  Find printer IP address

Section Open the EWS over a local network orientation

OR

 HP Laser Printers - Using the Printer Embedded Web Server (EWS)

Reminder: 

If asked enter the printer’s PIN number –

The default PIN might be located on the back or inside the printer (ink access area).

Alternate EWS format - Select newer InkJet printers and select LaserJet printers

Open your Browser

Type / enter the Printer IP address into URL / Address bar

Section Paper > Trays > click on Tray to configure

Next (as available)

Section Print > Default Print Options > Select default options / tray

I've had HP printers for years and always been very happy with them. I feel like another formerly trusted company has let me down by not being up front about features excluded in a product that have kind of been an industry standard. Me bad for being trusting, I guess, buying something I needed quickly without doing in-depth research. No worries. I won't make the mistake of trusting HP again.

The printer model does support automatic 2-sided printing.
