Does the HP Envy Photo 6234 come with OCR software, and, if so, where do I locate it please?

@MazzaMum

Greetings!

Welcome to the HP Support Community. This is a great place to get support, find answers and tips to your technical queries. I have reviewed your post and I understand, you are trying to scan a document as editable text.

Don't worry, I'm here to help!

Let's try these steps -

1) Load the original print side down on the right front corner of the scanner glass.

2) Open the HP printer software. For more information.

3) In the printer software, under Print & Scan, click Scan, and then click Scan a Document or Photo.

4) Under Scan Shortcuts, select Save as Editable Text (OCR) and then click Scan.

You may also refer to "How do I save a scan as an editable text file?" from this document.

Hope this helps!

Let me know how that goes.

Thanks but I don't seem to have the options you give in your reply.  When I open HP scan the following appears:-

It looks like you were interacting with @asmita6658, but he is out for the day. I'm KrazyToad & I'm at your service.

Please download the Full Feature Software once again and check for the OCR feature

I have downloaded te software using the link you have given me but I still haven't the OCR option

I  have downloaded this 3 times and even run scan doctor to no avail although it tells me that I am out-of-paper and  yet I can print.  Getting very fed-up with this as it is a brand new printer!!!

@MazzaMum

I understand that the problem persists even after downloading the Full Feature Software

Oh dear!  This is getting so annoying as you have sent me a link for the USA and Canada when I live in the UK!!!!  They obviously couldn't help me and it seems that HP support in the UK is only available Monday to Friday which is not helpful at all.  Your virtual assistant didn't understand OCR software so I am still unable to use this feature.  I am very disappointed at the lack of support I am receiving from you so far
