HP Officejet 6500A e-All-in-One Printer series - E710

The "OK" button on the printer display does not work (is not responsive), which makes the printer completely disfunctional (the printer wants to perform maintenance check and requires me to press "OK" before I can do anything else, i.e., before I can print anything).

I did the hard reset (unplugged the printer for 60 seconds when it was switched on) – this didn't help.

I installed the latest firmware (via USB) – this didn't help.

This is very annoying.  I am surprised that there is no application which would simulate the printer display on the screen of my computer – this would allow me to press "OK" even if there is a mechanical problem with the printer display.  (But I still hope that an easier solution can be found than the one that would require me to carry the printer to the HP service…)

Any help will be appreciated.

With the power on, unplug the unit from the wall outlet.  Wait 10 mins.  Plug the unit back into the wall outlet not using any power strip or surge protector.  Power the unit up if it does not.  Status now?

Do this 3-4 times.  If the same error occurs, your printer needs service.
