Office Jet Pro 8710
Other

Hello All,

I am trying to set up a new HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 up as a network printer on a Windows Server 2012 Standard machine. The driver supplied by HP on the support site for this product is only applicable to Windows 10 and I cannot install it on my server. I have also atempted to find a Generic PCL3 driver (Similar to the HP Universal PCL 6), but I have come up with nothing so far. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks,

-Sto

Hi,

Please try from  OfficeJet Pro 8600  as mentioned on the following discussion:

Hello banhien,

Unfortunately the HP Officejet Pro 8600 Class driver is not working. I try to send a test print, and it seems to go through the print queue, however nothing shows up at the printer.

Any other potential solutions for this?

I saw something mentioned about grabbing an INF from an installed Win 7 driver, and so I decided to pursue that, however there are four INF files and none of them seem to work. Any other thoughts?

I was able to get it working doing this for a 2008 server

Downloading the windows 7 driver from the HP website

7zip to extract the exe contents to a folder

During your printer driver setup, chose have disk and

Navigate to your extracted folder

select the autorun.inf
