HP OfficeJet 250
Microsoft Windows 10 (32-bit)

Just bought the OfficeJet 250.  I have a document in Word that is horizontal, not portrait.  When I print it, it prints about 50% too big, so only part of the document gets printed.  The same document prints fine on our laser printer.  I suspect the printer driver must be wrong, but it is newly downloaded.

Portrait documents print fine.

Any suggestions?

Welcome to the HP support community.

Update the printer firmware

Here are the steps:- Click here

Perform root level uninstallation to remove all the printer related software's.

  • In Windows, search for and open Programs and Features.
  • Select your HP printer.
  • Select Uninstall.
  • In Windows, search for and open Devices and Printers.
  • In the Devices and Printers window look for your HP Printer. If you see it listed, right-click on it and choose "Delete" or "Remove Device.”
  • Open up the run command with the "Windows Key + R" key combo.
  • Type printui.exe /s and click OK.
  • Click on Drivers tab.
  • Look for HP Printer driver. If you see it click on it and click Remove at the bottom.
  • Select OK.
  • Remove all instances of the same.
  • Select Apply and OK on the Print Server Properties windows.
  • Close Devices and Printers.
  • Restart the PC again.

Download and install printer full feature driver

I reposted the question today as your suggestions didn't work.  Sorry, I didn't know how to reply to you, as all I had was the noreply email.  Then I found this link.

Please see my new posting of the same subject for the steps I did and my plea for more help.

I can send you a pdf of the print results or the actual Word file if any of that would help.

Thanks

Steve.  (SKKAJK)

The problem seems to be with how Word prints that particular file.  If printed to our laserjet or HP 8600, it prints fine.  If printed to the officejet 250  or to PDF, the print scaling is too big.  Maybe some printer drivers are wrong.

On text files, horizontal printing on the officejet 250 is fine.

This might require one on one interaction to fix the issue.

I request you to talk to HP support.

They might have multiple options to help you with this.

  1. Click on this link - https://support.hp.com/us-en/contact-hp?openCLC=true
  2. Select the country.
  3. Enter the serial of your device.
  4. Select the country from the drop-down.
  5. Click on "Show Options".
  6. Fill the web-form. A case number and phone number will now populate for you.

I hope that helps.

After entering the serial number (your step 3), steps 4, 5 and 6 did not appear.  No drop down.  No "show options".  No web form.  Stuck again.
