Can anyone help with this?

Have you tried calling any of the third party ink suppliers to see if they have a work around.  Even though I use genuine HP inks (which I buy multiple cartridges on sale), I had to use one of those workarounds to roll back my firmware provided by the third party ink supplier in order to use the genuine HP cartridge.  If that isn't backward, I don't know what is.

 

(Sorrry, My printer was a different series so I cannot provide a specific link for yours)
