HP OfficeJet Pro 8710 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Office Jet Pro 8710 software features stop working every month or so. The original solution to this problem was: Files associated to the printer are deleted and reinstalled. This works but only last about a month before having to redo again. This time wireless set up not complete; will not connect to printer. IP address from printer is input correctly but set up can't find the printer. Any suggestions appreciated. Thank you!

Welcome to the HP support community.

I understand that you are getting a printer driver error,I am glad to assist you.

Update the printer firmware to install the latest updates

Here are the steps:- Click here

Use HP Print and Scan Doctor to fix connectivity and printing issues.

Download HP Print and Scan Doctor.

  • Run HPPSdr.exe from the download location on your computer.
  • Once HP Print and Scan Doctor opens, click Start, and then select your printer.
  • If your printer is not in the list, turn it off and on, and then click Retry.
  • If there is a connection problem, follow the instructions in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
  • If a screen prompts you to turn on printer updates, click Yes.
  • If a screen prompts you to make your printer the default printer, click Yes.
  • Try to print.

Keep me posted.

If this helps, please mark the public post as an accepted solution so that it benefits several others.

Thx but none of that worked. Can't even find the printer. I checked the IP address, changed it in the Links Wi-Fi to match the printer and will not connect. Just cannot connect wirelessly. Update: I deleted all HP Printer associated files and reinstalled the software - printer connected to wireless network now and working. But, in a month or so I'll have to do the same thing.
