Hi @Craig2424,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand you're experiencing issues with your HP OfficeJet 4635 printer after upgrading to Windows 11. Here are some steps you can take to address common problems like garbled print jobs, print jobs getting stuck in queues, and printing issues with specific applications:

Update Printer Drivers:

  • Ensure you have the latest printer driver installed. You can download the appropriate driver from the HP Support website. Search for your printer model and follow the instructions for downloading the latest driver compatible with Windows 11.

Use the HP App:

  • Since you mentioned that PDFs print fine from the HP App, try using this app for all your printing needs. It can often resolve compatibility issues experienced with older printer drivers.

Check for Windows Updates:

  • Ensure that your Windows 11 system is fully updated. Sometimes, driver compatibility issues are resolved through more recent Windows updates.

Clear the Print Queue:

  • Navigate to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and click on “Open queue.” Once there, you can right-click on any stuck jobs and select “Cancel” to clear the queue.

Set All Printer Software to Run As Administrator:

  • Right-click on the HP printer software executable file, select Properties, then under the Compatibility tab, check the option to Run this program as an administrator.

Remove and Reinstall the Printer:

  • Remove your printer from the Printers & Scanners settings and then reinstall it.

Check Default Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the OfficeJet 4635 is set as the default printer. This can be verified under Printers & Scanners.

Troubleshoot via Windows:

  • Use Windows Troubleshooter for printers by navigating to Settings > System > Troubleshoot > Other troubleshooters and select Printer.

Reset the Printing System:

  • A complete reset of the entire printing system may be necessary as a last resort. Make sure to have all setup and connection details ready before attempting.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!

I tried all those steps and nothing was successful to resolve the issue.  Just bought a new printer which is working fine.

Hi @Craig2424,

Thank you for sharing the details.

Glad the new printer is running smoothly—fresh ink and crisp pages always feel reassuring.
