HP OfficeJet 8022 All-in-One Printer

Hi, My OfficeJet 8022 is currently disabled after spending close to 4-Hours with Twitter Support.

My printer had to be reset last month because HP Smart would not let me print anything. HP Smart is giving me the error code (Error Code: OW_500_OWSID00001). After spending 5 hours to get the printer re-setup last month and fighting with Instant Ink, it worked for 1 month.

Today, My HP OMEN PC would not connect to the Printer. HP Smart has given me the error code above for 12+ months, nothing will fix it. I am not on a VPN. I tried running HP Print and Scan Doctor, and the program would not communicate with the printer. I verified the network and re-set up the Wireless Network on the actual printer twice.

The rep via Twitter directed me to do the steps listed in this article "Windows 10 can't detect my printer". After trying to do those steps, I had to complete the steps I found in this article, "Cannot Delete Printer Driver". After this, I was instructed to finish deleting all of the Printer Drivers in the printui.exe /s command via Windows + R.

Once that was completed, I restarted my computer and installed HP Easy Start. HP Easy Start instructed me to complete the setup via HP Smart, which I could not. So I had to run HP Easy Start a second time and manually installed all the required drivers and programs. After I completed the manual install, Windows cannot detect any of my printer's drivers, even though I can see that they are installed in the printui.exe /s and in Device Manager, and I am unable to print anything.

I am at a loss for words for how disgusted I am with this product and the lack of true support available with a major issue. Just because this printer is from 2019 does not mean it should die this early. If HP is only making products to last 2/3 years, I will be taking my business elsewhere after being an HP Customer since 2005.

What I need to be fixed:
1. HP Smart to be able to connect, because I have followed every step I have seen in the HP Community to fix this, but they do NOT work.
2. My HP OfficeJet 8022 HP81A5F0 to be fixed somehow, or be able to verify that the printer is defective (and that my HP OMEN PC is not the problem here) so I can go purchase a new printer for College.

Hi!

I sent you a message back. My new problem is Windows will not recognize the Driver that I have installed for the Printer, and it is defaulting the printer to the WSA Driver provided by Microsoft back in 2006. I have gone to Device Manager and tried to force it to choose the driver file I downloaded from the HP Support website to no avail.

I'm not sure what else to do, HP Smart says the printer has a Green Checkmark, but my PC cannot communicate with it.

Hi!

That option would not work for me, as the printer is out of warranty and there would be a charge. I have purchased a new printer and will be getting it delivered within the next few days.

Thanks for your help.
