Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

Tried to install the printer software on a new computer. The software refused to detect the printer even though it was properly connected to the network and other devices could interact with it normally. Tried Print and Scan Doctor which suggested performing a cold reset of the printer (didn't know this was going to completely wipe it!) Started going through setup on the little screen and I get a message that the cartridges may not be used until the printer is enrolled in Instant Ink. (printer was enrolled prior to reset) Then, it wants to print an alignment page and gets stuck--I'm assuming because it refuses to use the cartridges. I now seem to have an All In One boat anchor. I need to force this printer to skip the alignment and/or use the cartridges (I refuse to buy any). I can't even connect the printer to the network now because I can't get through to that part of thee setup. I'll save my commentary for later but you can imagine...

@5ugarV, Welcome to the HP Support Community! I’m here to help.

I understand you are not able to use the printer. As the printer was reset, the Instant Ink information was erased. It has to be re-enrolled in Instant Ink.

Use the HP Smart app on the PC to do this with the existing account.

If the issue persists, kindly contact the Instant Ink department in your region for assistance. The contact information can be found on the home page of Instant Ink. Click here or go to HP Instant Ink support

Keep me posted for any other assistance.
