Since yesterday i can`t scan with pdf24 or others like hp-scan. I have problems with the original driver for the 6970, it says always driver failed.  This is only on usb.

On wifi network i can scan with hp-smart.  I have installed different driver packages, i have installed the hp universal package,  i can choose the twain 64 usb but it doesnt´t function.

In the device manager is an error in "Bildverarbeitungsgeräte":

Dieses Hardwaregerät kann nicht gestartet werden, da dessen Konfigurationsinformationen (in der Registrierung) unvollständig oder beschädigt sind. (Code 19)

How can is solve this ?

Hi @Bakytbek,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

It seems like you're experiencing issues with scanning using the HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 via USB connection, but can scan successfully over WiFi with the HP Smart app. Here's a step-by-step guide to troubleshooting and resolving the problem:

Uninstall Existing Drivers:

  • Go to the 'Control Panel' on your computer.
  • Navigate to 'Programs and Features' (or 'Apps & Features' on Windows 10/11).
  • Uninstall any existing HP OfficeJet Pro 6970 drivers and software.

Device Manager Check:

  • Open 'Device Manager'.
  • Check for any yellow warning signs next to devices under “Imaging devices” or “Universal Serial Bus controllers”.
  • If there is an error shown, try right-clicking the device and select 'Uninstall Device'. Reboot your computer after uninstalling.

Reinstall Drivers:

  • Download the latest full-feature driver package from the HP Support Website.
  • Ensure the driver is specifically for the OfficeJet Pro 6970 and compatible with your version of Windows.
  • Install the driver package, ensuring the printer is not connected via USB until prompted.

TWAIN Driver Use:

  • When installing, ensure you select the TWAIN drivers intended for your scanner.
  • Check if the application you use for scanning (like PDF24) is set to use the TWAIN driver for the OfficeJet Pro 6970.

USB Port and Cable Check:

  • Try using a different USB port on your computer.
  • If possible, change the USB cable to ensure it is not a hardware issue.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
