Hi @Bumpa79,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

We understand your frustration, and we're here to help resolve this issue with your HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e All-in-One Printer on Windows 10 (64-bit).

Issue Summary:

  • The printer is detected on the network, but the driver is not installing correctly.
  • You've tried factory reset, reinstalling software, using the wizard, and manual installation, but the issue persists.

Step 1: Remove Previous Printer Installations Completely

  1. Open Control Panel > Devices and Printers.
  2. Right-click your HP printer and select Remove device (if listed).
  3. Go to Settings > Apps > Installed Apps and uninstall:
    • HP Smart
    • HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e Software
    • Any HP Universal Fax or Scan drivers?
  4. Go to Device Manager > Print Queues and uninstall any HP drivers listed.
  5. Reboot your computer.

Step 2: Use HP Smart App Setup

If the full driver still fails:

  1. Download HP Smart: HP Smart - Free download and install on Windows | Microsoft Store
  2. Open the app and click “+ Add Printer”.
  3. Let the app locate and set up the printer with the right drivers.

If the app says, “Cannot find printer,” ensure:

  • The printer is on the same Wi-Fi as your PC.
  • The printer is not in Sleep Mode (press the power button briefly).
  • You temporarily disable any firewall or VPN.

Step 3: Download & Install Full Feature Software (Not Basic Drivers)

Use this official HP link:
👉 📥 HP OfficeJet Pro 8135e All-in-One Printer Software and Driver Downloads | HP® Support

  1. Click “Download” next to HP Smart + Driver Setup Package.
  2. Install as Administrator (right-click > Run as Admin).
  3. During setup, ensure you choose Wi-Fi as the connection method.

I hope this helps.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
