HP OfficeJet Pro 8600 Plus Premium
Microsoft Windows 10 (64-bit)

I have 2 8600 printers the results are the same on both.  The issues have been going on for years. I had thought they were due to using old computers.  I just purchased new laptops last week and the issues continue.  I m currently using a Dell XPS 15 and XPS 17. (Just got them last week)

Issue 1.

when I go into the HP printer assistant to scan, it takes bout 30 seconds to get from printer assistant page get  to the scan page

Issue 2.

When I print from an application like word or excel, it takes up to 20-30 seconds to start to print after I select print in the Word app or other apps.  When I use air print on my iPad, it works great with those documents starting almost immediately

I have deleted the HP apps numerous times as well as the driver.  I reinstalled them with no change. still delays.

While everything seems to work, the delays snuck in a few years ago and now that I have new computers, I would like to get rid of the delays.

Thanks

@Michael_L

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Let's do a firmware update: https://support.hp.com/us-en/document/ish_1776648-1643972-16

Is it printing at a good speed from a phone?

Let me know if this helps.

Appreciate the response.

I tried to update the settings and selected apps: enable web services: auto update:

It came back :Unsuccessful.  Web services (eprint and apps could not be enable).  I retried without success.

I clicked on enter proxy and was asked the username and password.

I am now outside my knowledge base.  I am not sure what user id and password it is asking for.  I am not sure how to configure the proxy if I do get in.

When I retry to skip it asks for the proxy address.  What address is it asking for?
