Hi, All.

I have an Officejet Pro 8610 reporting "incompatible cartridges".  I'm located in the US and have the Z10 (US and Canada) cartridges.  My printer's Country/Region is set to "US".  I've already contacted HP Support via Facebook.  They recommended downloading and updating the printer firmware (https://hp.care/2ML9lec).  The printer reports "up to date" via Web Services.  I also attempted to update the (OJP8610_1828A.exe) driver via a USB connection, but the printer's status is "Not applicable" and the printer cannot be selected.  HP Support via Facebook recommended I contact HP (http://www.hp.com/contacthp/) and "...select chat or get phone number options...".  Unfortunately, chat and phone numbers aren't available to me, only posting my question to the community.  I have attempted to contact HP Support via Facebook again and currently awaiting a response.  Any assistance would be appreciated.

Very Respectfully,

Luciano_A

Hi @Luciano_A

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I'd be happy to assist you.

If the printer and the ink cartridges are bought in the same region, this is not a regionalization issue.

HP customizes some printers and ink cartridges to meet local customer needs. If you take your printer from one country/region to another country/region, you might not find ink cartridges with the same number on the label as your original ink cartridges. If you install an ink cartridge with a different number on the label, you might see one of the following error messages:

  • Incompatible Cartridges

  • Cartridge Not Intended for this Printer

  • Incorrect Cartridges

Kindly perform the steps mentioned in this document.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Need a regional reset for HP 8610, S/N: [edit].

Z10 cartridges will not work on this printer purchased in the US.

I did all this and it didn't make any difference.

Hi,

Please open HP Smart from your computer and double click the top printer icon

Click on Supplies information, does it show Z10 under the bottom Supported section or any other value?
