Hi,
We have a new printer which is stuck on the "Get HP Software" screen with no option to skip it.
I have power cycled the printer as suggested.
I have installed the app (also tried via a laptop) and neither device is able to find the printer. Strangely, when it fails, if I press the printer I wanted isn't listed button, my phone / laptop still do not find the ptiner but the screen on the printer changes to "The HP Smart app has found your printer" and then gets stuck there.
I have seen other suggestions that if you press the info button, there is an option to set up later however this is not here for me.
Is there anything I can do to skip this as the printer can't be used at the moment.

Hello CS-Eskens,
To restore normal operation of your printer, you will need to uninstall the old driver. of your printer. Download the first one (HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software) which is 16.4 MB and download the complete driver for your printer which is 310.0 MB. Then follow the procedure to Uninstall/Install the new full HP driver.
HP Easy Start Printer Setup Software (Internet connection required for driver installation) | 16.1.9 |
16.4 MB | Sep 14, 2023 | Download |
HP OfficeJet Pro 9010 EasyStart Printer Setup Software – Offline Use Only | 49.10.4644 |
310.0 MB | Apr 12, 2022 | Download |
Uninstallation, Installation procedure :
You need to uninstall the old driver from your printer. In the Windows Control Panel, in "Programs and Features", then right-click on the printer row, click "Delete".
Delete all the names that have a link with your old printer, which you will find in: Program and X86 Program, then, in the Control Panel,
right-click on your old printer (If it is still there, there are high chance that it is no longer there) there "Delete" if it is present, continue.
Restart the PC. At the end of the reboot, connect the printer to the power supply, turn it on, then connect a USB cord: on one side of the PC,
the other side on the printer, during installation ONLY when you are invited to do so. (Towards the end of the installation).
Start installing your printer, by right clicking on the setup.exe, from the downloaded driver, click on ''installed as administrator'',
let the printer install itself, at the end of the installation, restart the PC. To create a shortcut for your printer,
on the Windows desktop, (to access your printer's menu), open the Windows Control Panel, right-click on the icon of your new printer,
create a shortcut, on the desktop, click yes. A new shortcut has been created on the Windows desktop.
Open the Windows desktop, left-click on the newly created shortcut, a printer menu appears (See below) with "ink levels",
possibility: to print, scan, fax, and digitize, by clicking on it. If it works, you can delete the old shortcut on the Windows desktop.
Here's how to access the Control Panel, for those who don't have the Control Panel shortcut :
**To test, turn on your printer, print a test page, by clicking on “Personalize your printer”, ''Print a test page''.
The test page prints. That's it, your printer is working again.
