HP does not provide a driver for Linux. With the PPD driver "HP OfficeJet 5110 hpcups 3.13.3" (Note: that's the closest match to a 5200 series) installed on Ubuntu, the printer freezes after printing about 3" of a color test page. Status of the printer is stuck at "printing", even after cancelling at the console and from the PC. I've also tried generic PCL drivers with the same results in grayscale. Any thoughts?

Hi,
HP does provide Linux Drivers, your printer is supported with HPLIP
https://developers.hp.com/hp-linux-imaging-and-printing/gethplip
Please download and install HPLIP, for any help see the online documentation and support within the HPLIP site.

Hi, Shlomi!
Thanks for your response. hplip was the first driver I tried but it did not solve the problem. The test page printed about 3" and then the printer froze with "printing" message. Had to disconnect power and restart the printer. The only full color solution I've found so far is "Generic PCL 3 Printer Foomatic/pcl3" driver in gutenprint.
