While installing an updated driver to my 9015e printer the computer crashed before the install completed.  Now the printer shows an error "A problem has occurred with one of the printer's critical system files. A printer update will be installed to fix this problem." 

 

The printer is completely locked.  None of the HP tools can find the printer.  I've connected the USB cable to the back of the printer but it's still not detected.  How can I force a driver download with the USB cable?

Welcome to the HP support community.

 

I understand that your printer is showing error, I am glad to assist you.

You might have to perform a semi-full reset on the printer.

The reset instructions are specific for your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.  

I am sending you a private message with the steps to reset the printer. Please check the mailbox icon at the top-right corner of this screen.
