HP OfficeJet 200 Mobile Printer

Hi,

I have just purchased an Officejet 200 printer. The wifi appears to be disabled, selecting on the panel, it gives a message "this feature has been disabled. Contact the person who set up the printer"

There is no option to enable in the panel settings at all. I have connected the printer via USB and loaded the embedded web page, but there is also no option to enable wifi, it says disabled by the administrator.

Any ideas?

thanks

Simon

@Sywater, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your OfficeJet 200!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

I understand that your HP OfficeJet 200 printer’s Wi-Fi is disabled, and you're unable to enable it from the control panel or the embedded web server. Since the message states that Wi-Fi is disabled by the administrator, let’s try a few troubleshooting steps to resolve this.

Restore Network Defaults from Printer Panel

  1. Turn on the printer.
  2. Press the Wireless button to access the Wireless Menu.
  3. If available, select Restore Network Defaults.
  4. Restart the printer and check if Wi-Fi can be enabled.

Restore Factory Defaults (Reset Printer)

If the network reset doesn’t work, try a full factory reset:

  1. Turn off the printer.
  2. Press and hold the Power button and the Wi-Fi button at the same time.
  3. While holding both buttons, turn the printer on.
  4. Continue holding the buttons for about 10 seconds until the printer resets.

Let me know if it helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi,

Thanks, however that does not work.

Restore network defaults is not possible because on pressing the wireless button, the display says "this feature has been disabled. Contact the person who set up the printer."

Restore factory defaults does not work as holding down the power and wifi button for 10 seconds or any length of time does nothing at all.

Do you have any other suggestions?

Thanks

@Sywater, Thanks for trying those steps and getting back to us. Since both the network reset and factory reset did not work, let’s explore alternative solution:

Check HP Smart App or Printer Software

  • Install and open the HP Smart app (if not already installed).
  • Navigate to Advanced Settings or Printer Settings to see if Wi-Fi can be enabled from there.

Firmware Update

  • Ensure your printer firmware is up to date. You can check for updates via the HP website or HP Smart app.
  • If an update is available, install it and retry enabling Wi-Fi.

Let me know if it helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!

Hi

still not able to enable WiFi via HP Smart or printer settings.

in the meantime, I purchased an Officejet 250 and it works correctly with WiFi enabled by default.

I can only suspect that the Officejet 200 is faulty somehow, I’m going to return it and keep the 250 model.

thanks
