Officejet 6000 Wireless
Microsoft Windows 7 (32-bit)

My wireless connection to my Officejet 6000 Wireless printer was lost earlier this week, and seemingly out of nowhere. So, I've spent all week troubleshooting on how to get the connection back. Through much trial and error, I've yet to be able to get my computer to communicate to my printer without an ethernet connection between my router and my printer, which I never had to do before.

In all of this, my USB just stopped recognizing my printer. When I plug it it in, nothing happens. This is a problem, as the process by which you get your wireless connection back requires that you temporarily connect your USB cable  I've downloaded all of the software and drivers for my OS directly from the website, here, and installed and uninstalled multiple times to get them to work. No dice. I've tried using Windows device driver wizard...it says it can't find and thus can't install the driver. And despite being being able to printer from my computer to the router physically connected to the printer, my Device Manager still shows an issue with printer and an "unknown device" that has come out of nowhere:

As you can see, there is nothing shown to be wrong with my USB port, and when I got to update their drivers, it shows them all to be the latest version. BTW, here is what is shown when I run Window's drivers updated for the errors with the printer and "unknown device":

Here is what you get when you use the "Scan for hardware changes" wizard in the Device Manager:

I've done everything to remedy these problems. I've installed and reinstalled the printer software and drivers.I have power cycled my router and printer and PC. I have searched for drivers using both the Windows wizards and drivers directly from HP's website for my OS. I have tried monkeying around with my router's network using HP Solution Center and HP Printer and Scan Doctor. NOTHING has fixed the issues.

I am wanting advice on any troubleshooting tips that I may be missing. Anyone have these problems and was able to fix them?

So, the printer is not connecting to my USB port because it looks like whatever has happened while I was trying to fix this blew out the PRINTER'S port. Plugged it into another computer, and that computer didn't recognize it, either. Wow.
