Hi @SCS925,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Officejet 7310 is selectively skipping documents, here are a few steps to try:

Check Print Spooler Service:

  • Go to Services (type services.msc in the Windows search bar).
  • Find Print Spooler, right-click it, and select Restart.
  • Ensure that it is set to Automatic. This will ensure the spooler service runs continuously, which can help with issues like documents disappearing from the queue.

Clear Print Queue:

  • Sometimes a stuck job can prevent other documents from being processed. Go to Settings > Devices > Printers & Scanners, select your printer, and then choose Open Queue. Cancel any documents in the queue, then try printing again.

Try a Different Format:

  • Test printing various document types (PDFs, Word docs, photos) to identify if the issue is specific to one type of file. If one format consistently fails, try updating or reinstalling the app used to open that file type.

Run the Printer Troubleshooter:

  • Windows has a built-in troubleshooting tool that may detect and fix issues with printing. Go to Settings > Update & Security > Troubleshoot > Additional Troubleshooters > Printer.

Check Document Permissions:

  • Ensure the document isn’t restricted or read-only, as that sometimes blocks it from printing. Right-click the document, go to Properties, and check for any permissions or read-only status.

Verify Port and Connection Settings:

  • Sometimes incorrect port settings can cause erratic printing behavior. Go to Devices and Printers, right-click on your printer, select Printer Properties, and go to the Ports tab. Ensure the correct port (usually USB or TCP/IP) is selected for your printer.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
