The std HP print driver for the Officejet 8710 has a bug when printing an excel file with a string of text in one cell. If the text in a cell is long when printing the 8710 prints that text over top of other cells thus you have print on top of each other. HP helped me +/- a year ago to find an alternative generic print driver that worked to solve the issue. The driver was accidently removed from my PC and I can't recall what they gave me.

Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I would suggest you try the Windows built-in drivers. Follow the steps below:
• Go to Control Panel - Devices and Printers - Click on "Add printer" and follow the on-screen instructions.
• When the page prompts for the drivers, select "Windows update". The driver list will be updated.
• Click HP, Hewlett Packard, or Hewlett-Packard in the Manufacturer pane, and then click the name of your printer in the Printers pane.
Refer to this document HP Printers - Installing and Using the Windows Built-in Print Driver for help.
Let me know if this helps.

Unfortunately reloading the HP 8710 printer software driver from HP or MS does not fix the issue. When I called HP support a year ago the only fix was to use a generic HP printer driver, which worked great. I replaced my HP laptop that had the generic printer driver and forgot to copy the driver that worked. I'm an HPE employee.

Apologies for jumping in unannounced.
Guessing...
The "alternative" might have been the driver for the OfficeJet Pro 8500
Look for that printer series when you peruse the "Add a Printer" Windows Drivers list.
NOTE:
You will need to click the "Windows Updates" button and wait for a while for the printer list to update / populate.
For those reading - Windows 10 print drivers can be added for some models.
