Hi @certerts

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Troubleshooting Driver Download Issues for HP OfficeJet Pro 8725 on Windows 11

If you're experiencing difficulties downloading or installing drivers for your HP OfficeJet Pro 8725 printer on Windows 11, follow these steps to resolve the issue:

Visit the Official HP Website:

  • Go to the HP Support & Drivers page.
  • Enter your printer model (OfficeJet Pro 8725) to access the specific driver and software downloads.

Use HP Smart App:

  • Download the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
  • Use it to set up your printer and automatically download the necessary drivers.

Remove Previous Printer Installations:

  • Go to "Settings" > "Bluetooth & devices" > "Printers & scanners."
  • Find your printer in the list, select it, and click "Remove."
  • Uninstall any previous versions of HP software related to the printer.

Check Windows Update:

  • Sometimes Windows Update can provide printer drivers automatically.
  • Go to "Settings" > "Windows Update" > "Check for updates."

Disable Firewall/Antivirus Temporarily:

  • Security software can sometimes block downloads or installations. Temporarily disable firewall and antivirus software during installation (remember to enable them afterward).

Download Driver Package Manually:

  • On the HP Support page, download the full-featured driver package manually.
  • Save the file and run the installation as an administrator (right-click the file > "Run as administrator").

Ensure Sufficient Disk Space:

  • Confirm that your computer has enough disk space for the installation package.

Check Internet Connection:

  • Ensure you have a stable internet connection when downloading files from the HP site.

Perform System Cleanup:

  • Clear browser cache and cookies before downloading.
  • Use Disk Cleanup to remove temporary files from your computer.

Use HP’s Diagnose & Fix Tool

  • In the HP Smart app, click Printer Settings > Diagnose & Fix.
  • Let it run a scan—it will automatically fix common connection issues.
You can also access this tool on HP’s support page if needed.

Let me know how far you get with these steps—or if you’d like help walking through them one by one. We’ll get your printer back in action!
