@Reob, Welcome to the HP Support Community!
Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your printer!
We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.
It looks like your HP OfficeJet Pro 8120e printer is showing as offline, and when you use the HP Print and Scan Doctor, it asks for an admin password that you never set up. Here’s how you can resolve this issue:
Try Default Credentials
Sometimes, the default credentials work. Try entering:
- Username: admin
- Password: (Leave it blank)
- If that doesn’t work, try admin as the password too.
Reset the Printer Password
If the default credentials don’t work, reset the printer settings:
- On your printer control panel, go to:
- Setup > Printer Maintenance > Restore > Restore Factory Defaults.
- Restart your printer and try using HP Print and Scan Doctor again.
Check Windows Credentials
If you're using a Windows PC:
- Open Control Panel > User Accounts > Credential Manager.
- Look for an entry related to HP and try using the saved credentials.
- If found, use those credentials in HP Print and Scan Doctor.
Reset the Administrator Password
If you’ve set an administrator password but forgot it:
- Open a browser and type your printer's IP address (Find it under Wireless Settings on the printer).
- Go to Settings > Security > Administrator Settings.
- Reset the password if needed.
If none of these steps work, let me know, and I’ll help further! 😊
Take care, and have an amazing day!
