Hello,

has somebody an old firmware for the HP LaserJet Pro M404dn? With the actual firmware 002_2539E we can't use our toner cartridges anymore - they are blocked. With the old firmware which was actual in May 2025 they are fine. The cartridge policy is off.

Sharing links and instructions for firmware downgrade is not allowed on HP forum.

 I have on my google drive firmware's from 2023 or 2022 if it can help ou send me a private message, I can share a link for download.

 

Firmware downgrade is not recommended, it can make the printer unusable.
