Hey all, 

I am trying to hook up my printer to my new computer. it worked last week on our old laptop. I can't get any drives for the printer. I've tried to use the HP drivers and all it wanted me to download was a system doctor. when i ran that it didn't even pull up my printer. it pulled up someone else's... I tried calling the help desk. my last assumption is the grey cord for the back of the pc is busted somehow. I'm going to try and replace said wire. however, if I could get some assistance that would be wonderful. thank again. 

 

- side note: I am not very tech savvy I am just trying to get this to work. so, thanks again if you're able to help.

Welcome to the HP User Community.

 

Your older printer is not supported in Windows 11.

In Windows 10, there was at least the option to install the Built-in Windows print drivers.

No such option listed for Windows 11.

 

The Doctor does not understand that the printer is not supported  - instead, the Doctor program flounders about and tries to find a solution.

 

Opinion

Time to consider a new printer.

HP and other major printer manufacturers offer excellent new printers for home and small office environment.
