Hi  @Martin3991

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out!

I  understand how  it can be when a firmware update suddenly blocks your cartridges.

Could you kindly confirm the exact printer model?

To better understand the issue, Kindly confirm the below details ;

Are you seeing an error message like “Cartridge blocked by firmware” on the printer display or in HP Smart?

Did this start immediately after a firmware update, or was the printer working normally for some time before the error appeared?

Are you using HP original cartridges or third‑party ones?

Below are a few steps you can try :

  1. Check cartridge compatibility: Ensure the cartridge model matches the printer’s supported list.
  2. Reinstall cartridges: Remove, clean contacts with a lint‑free cloth, and reseat firmly.

If you can share the exact model and current firmware version showing on the printer, I’ll guide you step‑by‑step on whether a rollback to 2020060 or 2022411 is possible.

I hope this helps.

I'm an HP Employee.
