I think I just made a huge mistake and I am REALLY upset that HP still has this on their website for download. I downloaded the firmware for this printer and now my attention light and power light are blinking and the printer will no longer connect. I have tried everything to get this thing back working. Did I just unintentionally fry my printer with your firmware upgrade that you have known for YEARS causes this issue? Why would you leave this on your site for download? Of course, my printer is out of warranty and I am looking at having to buy a new one now. I am really ticked off after reading the "fixes" for this problem.

Hi @MistyBE,
Welcome to the HP Support Community.
I'd be happy to help you!
Are you using HP genuine ink toner cartridges?
If yes, let's try these steps.
Ensure that your printer is connected to the internet.
Open the HP Smart app on your computer/ laptop, if the printer is not added, please click on add the printer on top. Select your printer and follow the on-screen instructions to get your printer configured on the app.
Once done, from HP Smart, select your printer, and then click or tap Advanced Settings
If the web browser displays a message indicating that the website is unsafe, select the option to continue. Accessing the website will not harm your device.
● If prompted, enter the default user name and password of the printer.
– User Name: admin
– Password: Open the cartridge access door, and see the label inside the printer
On the System tab, click Service.
In the Restore Defaults area, click the Restore Defaults button
The printer automatically restarts
This would remove any incorrect firmware updates from the printer and would put the printer in setup mode.
Once the printer is back on, disconnect the USB. Ethernet cable, uninstall and reinstall the HP smart app, open the app, and click on add printer on top. Select your printer and follow the on-screen instructions to get your printer configured on the app.
