@NisAue, Welcome to the HP Support Community – it’s great to have you here!

I appreciate you taking the time to share your question. I'm more than happy to assist with this and provide a solution that works for you.

If the delete key is inactive during setup on your HP OfficeJet Pro 8133, this is typically due to a temporary UI glitch or input field limitation in the printer's touchscreen interface. Here's how you can resolve it:

Restart the Printer:

  • Power off the printer completely.
  • Unplug the power cord from the wall and printer.
  • Wait for 60 seconds, then plug it back in and power it on.
  • Try entering the setup information again.

Clear the Input Field:

  • If the delete key doesn’t work, try tapping the input field again to re-focus it.
  • Use the Cancel (X) button to exit the current screen and re-enter the setup menu.

Reset the Printer UI:

  • On the printer control panel, go to: Home > Settings > Printer Maintenance > Restore Factory Defaults
  • This will reset the UI and may restore full keyboard functionality.
  • Note: This will erase any saved settings, so reconfiguration will be needed.

Update Printer Firmware:

  • Outdated firmware can cause UI bugs. To update:

Use HP Smart App for Setup(Recommended):

  • Download the HP Smart app on your smartphone or PC.
  • Use it to complete the setup, including entering Wi-Fi credentials and preferences.
  • This bypasses the touchscreen keyboard entirely and is often more reliable.

I hope your issue is now resolved. If not, feel free to reply and we’ll continue helping until everything’s sorted!
