Hi everyone,
I’m looking for some help. I’m trying to install a P1102 printer on macOS 26. I’ve tried the workaround of adding the printer via AirPrint instead of using the driver, which was suggested as a solution for Tahoe 26.1. However, on macOS 26.2 there is no option to select AirPrint.
Does anyone know of an alternative way to add this printer on Tahoe 26.2?

Hi @Oliver013

Welcome to the HP Support Community! We're here to help you get back up and running.

Thanks for already trying the AirPrint method—it’s truly appreciated. Since macOS 26.2 no longer shows the AirPrint option for the P1102.

As of now, HP does not list macOS 26.2 (Tahoe) as a supported operating system for the LaserJet P1102.

However, find below the general guidance for installing this printer on macOS using built-in drivers or the HP Easy Admin tool.

1. Check HP’s Driver and Software Page

Visit the official HP support page for the LaserJet P1102: HP LaserJet Pro P1102 Printer Software and Drivers

  • Select macOS as your operating system.
  • If no specific driver is listed for macOS 26.2, HP recommends using Apple Software Update or AirPrint, if available.

2. Use HP Easy Admin (for macOS 10.15 and later)

HP provides the HP Easy Admin utility to install supported drivers:

  • Download from: HP Easy Admin

Steps:

  • Open HP Easy Admin.
  • Search for “HP LaserJet P1100 Series” in the driver list.
  • Download and install the driver.
  • Then go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners, click Add Printer, and select the P1102.
  • If prompted, choose HP LaserJet P1100 Series from the “Use” dropdown.

3. If AirPrint Is Not Available

HP’s documentation suggests that if AirPrint is not listed as an option:

  • Ensure the printer is connected via USB and powered on.
  • Try resetting the printing system:
    • Go to System Settings > Printers & Scanners
    • Right-click in the printer list and choose Reset printing system
  • Reconnect the printer and try adding it again.

Take care, and have an amazing day!
