I have been printing eBay mailing labels for years with my HP printer P1102w. When I use the C+P, I resize the label a bit and print. But today the label only previews and prints in the middle of the 8 x 11 1/2 sheet so actually the label becomes useless because it should be printing on the top of the page allowing me to use the other label at another time. I have tried downloading it into a PDF but that does not work either.

The crazy thing is it printed properly yesterday. I have tried everything I can think of - can you help me please?

Hi @terri232,

Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding the label printing issue with the HP LaserJet P1102w!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

Try these steps:

Check Printer Settings:

  • Ensure that the paper size settings in your printer driver match the size of the paper you are using (8.5 x 11 inches).
  • Verify that the printer is set to print labels and not set to any other paper type, which might be affecting alignment.

Adjust the Layout:

  • In the printing software you are using (such as Adobe for PDFs), adjust the page layout settings to ensure that the label prints at the top of the page.
  • Check if the scaling settings are correctly configured to prevent unwanted resizing.

Software and Driver Update:

  • Update your printer driver to the latest version. You can download the latest drivers from the HP Support page.
  • Ensure that your PDF viewer (such as Adobe Acrobat Reader) is updated to the latest version.

Use a Template:

  • Consider using a label template that matches the layout of your specific label sheets (e.g., Avery templates compatible with your label sheets) to ensure accurate placement.

Test with Another Document:

  • Try printing a test page or another type of label to see if the issue persists. This can help identify if the problem is with the specific document or a broader issue.

I hope this helps.

The label issue has been solved. When you download your label from eBay on the left side there are several options you can choose from. I use PORTRAIT, LETTER, FIT TO PRINTABLE AREA and PAGES PER SHEET 2.

Voila!
