For the past few months, the HP Laserjet P1606dn will not perform the automatic duplex function.
This happens in all programs. No error messages are displayed. When duplexing is selected, the printer displays the manual print popup prompt to reinsert the pages.
Per a previous post on this subject, I deselected the "Allow Manual Duplexing" in the Device Settings tab of the Printer Properties, unplugged and replugged in the printer power, and reinstalled the printer software. Did not uninstall the software before reinstalling.
Operating System: Windows 10 Pro, 64-bit
CPU: Intel Core i5
Any advice will be greatly appreciated.

Thank you for advice on the P1606dn duplex problem.
The Device Settings tab has a subsection called "Duplex Mode;" and the "Allow Automatic Duplexing" is selected.
I tried the advice from a similar post. This post indicated to completely wipe out all HP software and drivers, then reinstall. It was a hassle; but, it appears to have fixed the problem for now.

The 'automatic discovery' feature used by some drivers on installation (or update) doesn't always work; ensure that the driver knows that a duplex unit is present on the printer (assuming that one is present):
- For the printer instance in question, bring up the Printer properties dialogue.
- Select the Device settings tab.
- Ensure that the duplex unit is set to Installed rather than Not installed.
You'll probably need to be logged in with administrator credentials in order to change the device settings.
