E52645
Linux

I'm trying to assist a managed print customer who uses Linux. I know very little about these servers, systems, or commands. They run E50145's in their retail stores. The are able to print multipage / multicolored invoices from these devices, but for some reason the same commands wont work on MFP's? Why would a Linux job file print on a E50145 (printer) and not an E52645 (MFP)

tray 2 plain paper for customer

tray 3 yellow paper for warehouse

tray 4 blue paper for filing

His quick question to me was.. "PCL6 MFP with multi trays that supports LPD?"

When I asked why they cant just use an E52645 his response was, "Yeah, we don’t have luck with MFPs.  It might boil down to they don’t natively support PCL6 and if they do, we can’t get the printing right.  We’ve always just separated our MFPs from our ERP printers"
