HP DeskJet Ink Advantage 2778 All-in-One Printer
Microsoft Windows 11

Hi,

This is a printer issue. I have HP DeskJet In Advantage 2778 printer.

In the settings page , in HP Smart, it just will not accept the PIN. I am unable to access the internal Web server tools.

The PIN is right in front of my eyes and I type it. Yet the system won't accept it.

After a while it get's locked out for sometime. I retry and yet the PIN just won't be accepted.

Somebody pls help. I think I may have to do a factory reset or something. I don't know how to do that.

(P.S : I am unable to post this question on the board "Printer Setup, Software & Drivers ". It just won't show up when I select it in the drop down. Pls change the board from "Networking Operating System and Recovery" to "Printer Setup, Software & Drivers". )

Hi @Sunworld,

Welcome to the HP Support Community

I understand you are facing an issue with your HP Printer. Not to worry I will help you to get a resolution to resolve the issue.

We have to perform a Semi Full Reset to unlock the features of the printer.

The reset instructions are specific to your printer and performing those steps on a different printer may brick the device.

I've sent you a private message with reset instructions, follow the reset instruction to perform a full reset and re-initialize the printer.

In order to access your private messages, click the private message icon on the upper right corner of your HP Community profile, next to your profile Name or simply click on this link.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted. -

Hi Elohi_NR

That did not help.

Even now Printer web services is not accepting the PIN I enter.

I am not sure if this related, but my printer will not print black ink as well at all. This has been happening for many months.

Alongside of the problem that the PIN has also not been working.
