Hi @Sparky3909,

Welcome to The HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP Deskjet 460 Mobile Printer is on Windows 11, if the operating system isn't automatically finding a driver, you can try the following steps to manually install it:

Check Windows Update: Sometimes Windows Update can automatically find and install drivers for older devices. Make sure your Windows 11 is fully updated by going to Settings > Update & Security > Windows Update.

Install using Built-in Drivers:

  • Connect your HP Deskjet 460 printer to your Windows 11 PC.
  • Open Device Manager. You can search for "Device Manager" in the Start menu.
  • Look for your HP Deskjet 460 under "Other devices" or "Print queues" (it might appear with a yellow exclamation mark indicating a driver issue).
  • Right-click on it and choose "Update driver."
  • Select "Search automatically for updated driver software" and let Windows search for the driver online.

Download and Install Driver Manually: Software and Drivers for HP Deskjet 460 Mobile Printer series

  • If Windows Update doesn't find a driver, you can manually download it from the HP website.
  • Visit the HP Support website: HP Customer Support - Software and Driver Downloads.
  • Enter your printer model (HP Deskjet 460 Mobile Printer series) and select your operating system (Windows 11 64-bit or 32-bit).
  • Download the latest driver package and run the installer.

Compatibility Mode (if necessary):

  • If the driver installer doesn’t work directly on Windows 11, you can try installing it in compatibility mode:
    • Right-click on the driver setup file.
    • Select "Properties" and then go to the "Compatibility" tab.
    • Check the box that says "Run this program in compatibility mode for" and select Windows 10.
    • Click Apply and then OK, then run the installer again.

Install Using HP Smart App (optional):  HP printer setup (HP Smart app)

  • Install the HP Smart app from the Microsoft Store.
  • Open the app and follow the prompts to add your printer. Sometimes, the HP Smart app can automatically detect and install the necessary drivers.

Refer to this document:  HP Deskjet 460 Mobile Printer series User manual

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.

Hi @Sparky3909

G´day, mate

Give it a go with the next driver, mate :

And because the printer is a little oldie, you may try first with USB cable connection between printer and computer.
