Hi @JIT17,

Welcome to the HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query. I will be glad to help you.

I understand your HP printer is not showing up on your PC, and you're experiencing issues reinstalling the HP software. Follow these troubleshooting steps:

Check Connections:

  • Ensure that the printer is turned on and connected to your computer.
  • Verify that all cable connections are secure and that you are using the correct cable for your operating system.

Direct Connection:

  • If your printer is connected through a USB hub or another device, try connecting it directly to the USB port on your computer to rule out connection issues.

Verify USB Recognition:

  • On Windows, go to Device Manager and ensure that the printer is recognized under the "Universal Serial Bus Controllers."
  • If it appears as an "Unknown Device," try disconnecting and reconnecting the USB cable.

Reinstall Printer Software:

  • Before reinstalling, ensure that all previous HP installations are completely uninstalled. You can do this by using the HP uninstall tool from the Official HP® Support or going through "Add or Remove Programs" in the Windows Control Panel.
  • Disable any active virus protection programs that might be preventing software installation.

Download Latest Drivers:

  • Go to the Official HP® Support and download the latest drivers and software for your printer model.
  • Run the driver installation file and follow the on-screen instructions.

    I hope this helps.

Take care and have an amazing day!
