HP PageWide 377dw Multifunction Printer

I can't find any useful information on this error 0xc6fd0813. The printer had been sitting (empty without ink carts) for a long time not being used, I just put some brand new sealed ink in it but it won't print anything. Also I can't navigate the LCD screen menu because a dropdown keeps covering the navigation bar at the top once I dismiss the Error code: 0xc6fd0813. On top of all of that I tried to do a firmware update but the firmware installer doesn't seem to see the printer. The printer drivers installed just fine and the printer shows up in the device manager, on my Linux laptop the printer also shows up using the lsusb command.

This error indicates an issue with the pen temperature sensor. Troubleshooting steps as below:

  • Turn the printer off.
  • Clear the paper jam and check the printer for other sheets in the paper path.
If no paper is found inside the printer continue to the next step.
  • Turn the printer on. If the paper jam is detected and cannot be removed, **bleep**.
  • Power Drain unit:
    1. Turn the printer off.
    2. Disconnect the power cord from the back of the printer, then wait 10 seconds.
    3. Reconnect the power cord, and then turn ON the printer.
    4. Repeat these steps up to three (3) times if error does not clear
  • Perform a power drain without the print cartridges:
    1. Turn the printer off and remove the cartridges.
    2. Turn the printer ON, then insert cartridges once the display prompts to insert cartridges.
    3. Wait for Ready status and perform a test print
  • Next, please check what the room temperature is and if the printer has been stored below 5 deg C / 41 deg F.
If printer has been stored below 5 deg C / 41 deg F, bring the printer to an environment greater than 15 deg C / 59 deg F and let it acclimate for 24 hours.
Turn the printer ON after 24 hours and see if error still occurs.

Search online for a repair manual which will show you how to run diagnostics tests mentioned.
