Setup:
Intel Core i7 cpu
Windows 7 (64bit)
HP PageWide Pro 477dw printer
Netgear Router
Netgear WiFi Bridge
Printer is connected to network with WiFi...works fine when using a computer that is also connected to the network with WiFi. Trying to connect another computer to the printer and having problems with installation software not being able to find the printer on the network.
This second computer is connected with Ethernet to the network. Here is what I've done so far:
Recycled (rebooted) all devices on the network.
Uninstalled/Reinstalled the driver software.
I can ping the printer from this computer with no errors.
I can bring up the Embedded Web Server of the printer on this computer in a web browser.
Bottom line is that the computer and the printer are correctly connected to the network and the computer can clearly "see" the printer on the network but the installation software keeps saying it can't find the printer.
Any help or suggestions is greatly appreciated.

Are you installing a Windows 10 64-bit system? Did you download the latest software from HP's website or are you installing the CDROM version? Don't use the downloaded software use the CDROM.
For Windows 10 64-bit systems HP has the wrong software on their support website. They screwed up and posted the software for the 477dn printer on the web page for the 477dw. Take a close look at the title of the installer window and make certain it says "477dw" not "477dn".
Also, don't let the HP Support Assistant register your printer, it will just try to update with the 477dn drivers and fail.
I wasted 2 hours last night figuring this out. Had to uninstall all traces of the 477dw and 477dn software, and then do a fresh install from the (out of date) CDROM that came in the box.

1. Turn off your pc
2. Turn off your router
3. Turn off your printer
You need to unplug all the power chord.. DO NO RESTART..
after that.. turn on all the devices. And it will work again..
hope will work to you either...
