HP ENVY Inspire 7955e All-in-One Printer

My printer specs state that up to 80lb. paper (cardstock) can be used in this printer.  When I load paper, there are only 5 types to choose from on the printer's screen:

Plain Paper

Photo Paper

Specialty Paper, Glossy

Specialty Paper, Matte

Plain Paper, Light/Recycled

Which type should I select when loading 80lb. paper?  Specialty Paper, Matte? Plain Paper?

Additional Information...

How / where you configure the paper size / type settings for printing depends on

  • Your Operating System / version
  • The printer software / application(s) installed
  • The software / application you are using to open, view, configure, and submit the job to the printer

Set Printing Preferences – Windows

NOTES

  • This section is not applicable to Mobile Printing.
  • Access to the complete Printer Preferences might require having installed the Full Driver printer software.
  • The printer should be selected as the default and current printing device.
  • Printing Preferences are available directly from the driver (Devices and Printers) or from within the job setup (software / application used to view and submit the job to the printer).

  • Printing Envelopes?  See NOTE
  • “Settings” style path to printer > See NOTE-2

Windows 10 / Windows 11

Windows key > Search for and open Control Panel

Control Panel > icon view > Devices and Printers

Right-Click on your printer > Printing Preferences

  • When called from within printing software / applications, Printing Preferences might be called "Printer Properties" / "Shortcuts" / “More Settings” / “Properties” / "Printer Setup" / "Presets" or similar.

For example,

If you are running Windows,

If you have installed the full driver printer software,

Open the content to be printed,

During the job configuration (job setup), Open Printing Preferences / More Settings / Properties

Set the preferred Shortcut and paper

If the paper size in combination with the paper type supports it,

Select Brochure Matte for your card paper.
