HP ENVY Photo 6255 All-in-One Printer

I got a new computer with Windows 11, my printer works fine, but when trying to set preferences for different paper types, the settings change for ALL paper types. So, if I go to preferences --> Paper/Quality tab and select 4x6 and choose paper source as "photo tray" and hit ok it saves. But when I go back into preference it also changed the paper source of letter and every other paper size to use the photo tray as the source. I have tried to uninstall the printer, reinstall the software/drivers and still get the same issue. Is there any way to fix this issue so that I can set the preferences different for different paper sizes?

@michelleva88, Welcome to the HP Support Community!

Thanks for reaching out about your query regarding your Paper size preferences not saving on Windows 11!

We're thrilled to have the opportunity to assist you and provide a solution.

If your paper size preferences for the HP ENVY Photo 6255 All-in-One Printer are not saving on Windows 11, you can try the following solutions:

Update Printer Driver

Make sure your printer driver is updated to the latest version compatible with Windows 11. You can download the most recent drivers from the HP Printer Setup Service.

Reconfigure Paper Settings

To ensure that your paper size preferences are saved, follow these steps:

Open the Print Dialog Box:

  • In your application, go to the File menu and select Print.
  • Make sure your printer is selected.

Access Printer Properties:

  • Click the button that opens the Properties dialog box. This could be labeled as Properties, Options, Printer Setup, Printer, or Preferences based on your software application.

Set Paper Size:

  • On the Layout tab, select Portrait or Landscape orientation.
  • On the Paper/Quality tab, choose the appropriate paper type from the Media drop-down list in the Tray Selection area.
  • Select the appropriate print quality in the Quality Settings area.
  • Click Advanced and select the correct paper size from the Paper Size drop-down list.

Save Settings:

  • Click OK to return to the Properties dialog box.
  • Click OK, and then click Print or OK in the Print dialog box.

Hope this helps!

Take care, and have an amazing day!
