I got this printer free but no one knows the old password cause they never used wireless which I need and is currently turned off. How do I reset the password without the old one? I’ve already tried 0000 and Admin and admin… I promise I’ve tried!

Hi @SkippyJon,
Welcome to The HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
I understand you are to reset the password on your HP LaserJet Pro MFP M225dw printer without knowing the old one, you can perform a factory reset. This will reset all settings, including the password, to their default values. Here's how you can do it:
- Turn off the printer.
- Press and hold the lower right corner of the touchscreen display.
- While holding the corner, turn on the printer.
- Continue holding the lower right corner until the 'Permanent Storage Init' message appears on the display, then release it.
The printer will go through the initialization process and reset to factory defaults.
After the reset, you can set up the printer as if it were new, including creating a new password for the wireless network.
Important Notes:
- This process will erase all customized settings, so you will need to reconfigure your network settings and any other customized settings after the reset.
- Ensure the printer is connected to a power source and do not interrupt the reset process.
Once the printer has reset, you should be able to access it without needing the old password and configure the wireless settings to suit your needs.

I hope this helps.
