Hi @Nag1234
Welcome to HP Support Community.
Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
If you’ve forgotten the password for the Embedded Web Server (EWS) on your HP Deskjet 2624 printer, the good news is that you can reset it by following these steps:
1. Reset EWS Password from Printer Settings
Most HP printers, including the Deskjet 2624, have a default password for the EWS. Typically, if you haven't changed it, the default password should be set to admin.
To reset the EWS password:
Access the Printer Control Panel:
- On your printer’s control panel, press the Wireless icon (if available).
Navigate to the Setup/Settings Menu:
- Go to the Network settings and locate the Web Services option (it may also be under Advanced Settings).
Restore Default Settings:
- Look for a Restore Network Defaults or Reset Web Services option. This will reset the network settings, including any password or login credentials associated with the Embedded Web Server (EWS).
2. Reset the Printer's Embedded Web Server (EWS) via Printer's IP Address
Alternatively, if you’re unable to reset it through the printer’s control panel, you can access the EWS page directly via the printer’s IP address and reset the password from there.
Here’s how:
Find the Printer's IP Address:
- On your HP Deskjet 2624 printer, press the Wireless button to print out the Network Configuration Page. This page will list the printer's IP address.
Access the EWS Page:
- Open a web browser on your computer and type the printer's IP address into the browser’s address bar (e.g., http://192.168.x.x).
Login to the EWS:
- If prompted, enter the default password. For most HP printers, the default password is usually admin (unless you’ve set a custom one).
Change or Reset the Password:
- Once logged into the EWS, go to the Security settings or Administrator Settings and change or reset the password as needed.
I hope this helps.
Take care and have a good day.

Hi Rachel, Thanks for your reply. I tried each one of your solutions, but none of them have worked. Even resetting the password in the EWS portal requires entering the custom password set. I cannot access the printer via the IP address since the printer is not connected to the network. To connect to the network, it asks for the password to continue. I really care about connecting it to the network and not much about resetting the password.
