Pc doesn’t see MFP m227

My MFP M227 is not seen by the hp software they recommend to install updated drivers. I’ve tried to install the printer manually and the printer displays a WPS PIN number on its screen so I know it sees the pc but it won’t let me add the printer. This problem exists with both a windows 11 pc and a windows 10 pc. The old windows 10 pc has the printer installed and will print but will not see it through the hp software to update the driver. It’s out of warranty so hp will not talk to me.

Manual Installation with WPS PIN

You mentioned seeing a WPS PIN number on your printer. To manually install the printer using WPS, follow these steps:

1. On your PC, go to Settings > Devices > Printers & scanners.
2. Click "Add a printer or scanner" and select "The printer I want isn’t listed."
3. Choose "Add a printer using a TCP/IP address or hostname."
4. Enter the IP address of the printer. This can be found on the printer's display under network settings or using the printer's menu.
5. When prompted, enter the WPS PIN displayed on the printer.

Checking Network Settings

1. Ensure that your printer and PC are connected to the same network.
2. Verify that there are no firewall settings blocking the printer's connection to the PC.
3. Make sure that SNMP (Simple Network Management Protocol) is enabled across all subnets in your environment as communication between HP Smart UPD and the printer requires SNMP for gathering product-specific configuration information
