Very basic/simple question that I should know but how do I check all of the ink levels on my printer?

Welcome to the HP Support Community. 

To check the ink levels from the control panel -
1. On the Home screen, touch the right arrow to view more options.
2. Touch Ink. The HP Photosmart displays a gauge that shows the estimated ink levels of all cartridges installed.

To check the ink levels from the HP Photosmart Software -
1. In the HP Solution Center, click Settings, point to Print Settings, and then click Printer Toolbox.
2. Click the Estimated Ink Level tab. The estimated ink levels for the ink cartridges appear.
