@Lewlamb, Welcome to HP Support Community.

Thank you for posting your query, I will be glad to help you.
We see that you are not able to print on photo paper all of a sudden, let's get your printer back to printing on photo paper. This issue can often be resolved with a few checks and adjustments. Please try the following steps:

Check Paper Type Settings

Make sure the printer is set to the correct paper type:

  • Open the Print dialog from your application (e.g., Word, Photos).
  • Click Properties or Preferences.
  • Under Paper Type or Media, select Photo Paper (e.g., HP Premium Plus Photo Paper).
  • Also ensure the Paper Size matches your photo paper (e.g., 4x6", 5x7").

Use the Rear Tray (if available)

Some HP printers only accept photo paper from the rear tray. Check your printer’s manual or look for a rear feed option.

Update or Reinstall Printer Driver

Outdated or incorrect drivers can cause printing issues:

Check Photo Paper Orientation

Ensure the glossy or printable side of the photo paper is facing the correct direction (usually facing down in rear tray or up in front tray).

Try a Different App

Sometimes the issue is app-specific. Try printing from:

  • HP Smart App (Download here - HP Smart)
  • Windows Photos or another photo viewer

Perform a Power Reset

  • Turn off the printer and unplug it from power.
  • Wait 60 seconds.
  • Plug it back in and turn it on.

I hope this helps.

Take care and have a good day.
