After replacing ink cartridges with authentic HP cartridges, and completing the alignment procedure, the print quality is blurred. I´ve repeated the alignment procedure three times, after removing and replacing the cartridges each time. Ironically, the alignment page message "IMPORTANT You must scan this page.." is always printed in great quality. I tried skipping step 2 - the scanning stage - but the result was the same.

Hi @shArpf0cus

Welcome to the HP Support Community. I understand the print quality is not satisfactory. I'd be happy to assist you.

Try making a standalone copy and check if that works. By this, we can conclude if this is a hardware or a driver issue.

Kindly follow the steps mentioned in this document to resolve print quality issues.

Hope this helps! Keep me posted.

Hello Kumar

Thanks for your help. I´ve tried everything suggested in those documents, but the blurred type remains. As mentioned previously, the printer prints perfect copies when it does its own `print quality´ tests, so the physical printer components seen absolutely fine. It´s baffling why the result when printing a document in `best quality´ is still blurred.

Could you suggest any other solution?

Many thanks

Simon

@shArpf0cus, thank you for the response.

Which application are you trying to print from?

Have you tried printing different types of documents like PDF, Word or Webpages and check if the issue persists?

Did you try making a standalone copy?

You have mentioned print quality report prints fine. We will also have to check on copies.

If the printer is able to make a copy fine, proceed to the next step.

Uninstall the HP driver from the MAC

Refer to this document to know how.

Click here to download the latest version of drivers

Try printing.

Let me know how this goes.
